Description
The Highland Vortex Regulator is a premium balanced regulator system engineered for exceptional breathing performance in the most demanding diving environments. Designed specifically for public safety, technical, and cold-water divers, the Vortex delivers smooth, reliable airflow regardless of cold temperatures, strong currents, silt, or contaminated water conditions.
Built for water temperatures below 50°F (10°C), the environmentally sealed first stage incorporates an external secondary diaphragm that isolates the main spring chamber from water, dramatically reducing the potential for ice formation. Additional heat exchanger fins integrated into the first stage further improve freeze resistance, making the Vortex an outstanding choice for year-round cold-water diving.
The balanced diaphragm first stage features a rotating swivel turret with a dedicated fifth low-pressure port, allowing for exceptionally clean hose routing on backmount, sidemount, and twin-cylinder configurations. Two high-pressure ports provide simultaneous use of a wireless transmitter and an analog pressure gauge.
The pneumatically balanced second stage offers effortless breathing performance and complete diver adjustment. An external inhalation adjustment knob allows divers to fine-tune breathing resistance, while the integrated Venturi lever helps prevent unwanted free-flow at the surface. A built-in heat exchanger further improves cold-water reliability, and the second stage can be converted for left- or right-hand hose routing using an optional conversion kit.
Each complete regulator includes a premium Miflex braided low-pressure hose, providing exceptional flexibility, reduced weight, and increased durability compared to traditional rubber hoses.
Compatible with EAN40 right out of the box, the Highland Vortex is equally at home in recreational, technical, public safety, and advanced cold-water diving applications.
