Description
Want to stay down longer and get back in the water sooner? The PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) Course is the most popular PADI specialty for a reason—it gives you more no-decompression time, especially on repetitive dives.
By diving with enriched air nitrox (higher oxygen, lower nitrogen), you reduce nitrogen absorption in your body. That means longer bottom times, shorter surface intervals, and more efficient dive days—whether you’re on a local charter or a multi-day dive trip.
If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver and at least 12 years old, you’re eligible to enroll (minimum age may vary by region).
What You’ll Learn
This course focuses on practical knowledge and real-world application, giving you the confidence to safely plan and execute nitrox dives.
Key topics include:
- Understanding enriched air blends (EANx)
- Managing oxygen exposure limits
- Using and setting a dive computer for nitrox
- Analyzing tank contents and verifying oxygen percentages
- Proper labeling and handling of enriched air cylinders
Unlike many other courses, this certification can often be completed without required open water dives, making it one of the fastest ways to upgrade your diving capability.
