The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course teaches you how to safely explore wreck sites while protecting both yourself and these incredible underwater resources.
At Orange County Divers, you'll develop the confidence and techniques needed to responsibly dive around shipwrecks under the supervision of experienced PADI Instructors.
What You'll Learn
Throughout four instructor-led training dives, you'll develop the practical skills required for safe wreck diving.
Training includes:
- Wreck diving planning
- Safe wreck exploration techniques
- Navigation around wrecks
- Hazard identification and avoidance
- Proper use of lights and reels
- Limited penetration techniques (where appropriate)
- Maintaining buoyancy around fragile structures
- Responsible wreck diving practices
- Conservation and preservation of historic wrecks
You'll also learn how to evaluate wreck conditions, identify potential hazards, and safely plan future wreck dives.

Course Prerequisites
To enroll, you must:
- Be at least 15 years old
- Be certified as a PADI Adventure Diver (or higher), or hold a qualifying certification from another recognized training organization

Additional Information
Some training dives may be conducted from a dive boat.
If additional charter dives are required to complete deep wreck training, a second boat dive or charter fee may be required and is not included in the course price.
Our instructors will explain any additional boat requirements when scheduling your dives.
